Dear Spoonies,

I know you’re exhausted. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. You miss the old you. You aren’t where you thought you’d be in life. You wish others understood how debilitating your symptoms truly are. I see you. I know how hard you are trying to figure out a way to be happy amidst all of the loss and limitations.

I get it, because I was there too.

If we've never met, I'm Emily. I have polycystic kidney disease, a hypermobility disorder, and in 2018 I sustained a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. I had multiple failed attempts to return to my career as a teacher and professional musician. For years I was stuck on disability leave and depressed. I used to go to 2-5 medical appointments per week, desperately seeking relief from my chronic pain and fatigue. I tried hundreds of supplements that never helped. I tried changing my diet, but it still didn't solve my problems.

I felt so lazy and unproductive...

So many of us struggle to slow down and prioritize rest. Years of social conditioning makes us falsely believe that our worth is based on how much we ACCOMPLISH. Many of us are high achievers and over-givers who never put ourselves first. We ignore the wisdom of our bodies and continue pushing past symptoms until we crash. BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.

It's possible to THRIVE with Chronic Illness

By implementing the strategies I now teach my clients, I have finally figured out how to ELIMINATE my symptoms, get my energy back, and create a life I LOVE alongside my diagnoses.
  • I can spend time with my family and friends, without worrying about a symptom flare-up.

  • I went from being stuck in bed, barely able to walk five minutes, to thriving on two-hour hikes!

  • After years of being on disability leave and attending legal meetings, I am finally free and able to work again.

But the best part is that I don't feel like a stranger in my mind and body anymore. Instead, I am grounded and have a deep sense of purpose.

I have my life back. And I know the same is possible for YOU too.

TSP™ Success Story

Kayleigh had to go on medical leave from her studies because of a wide variety of health diagnoses. She was isolated and felt like she wasn't where she was supposed to be. She had been sleeping on a recliner chair on the main floor of her parents’ home for a year because she didn’t have the energy to go upstairs.

By implementing the mindset and pacing strategies Kayleigh learned inside TSP™, she has been able to climb the stairs and sleep in her room EVERY DAY since the program ended. Kayleigh said one of the best parts of the program was the sense of community she gained.

Are you ready to THRIVE?

Rhonda's Testimonial

"Before TSP I was feeling hopeless about what my future would look like. My diagnosis was scary. And I had nowhere to really turn! My experience has helped me develop a completely new mindset! I’ve learned tools to manage symptoms instead of them managing me. And I’ve gained a community who knows what I’m going through. We support each other and lift each other up!"

Rhonda is now able to spend time and energy with her grandchildren and was successfully approved for disability pay after she completed the program!

What is a spoonie?

Many sick, disabled, and chronically ill people refer to themselves as spoonies. The Spoon Theory was developed by Christine Miserandino in 2003 to explain what it is like living with a debilitating health condition.

Those who struggle with chronic pain and fatigue need to use spoons (aka units of energy) wisely in order to complete everyday tasks and activities. Many spoonies don’t know how many spoons they will start the day with, and need to plan and pace carefully so that they don’t end up in a symptom flare-up.

Being a spoonie can be extremely isolating, which is why belonging to a community of people who understand your struggles is so important.

Some of the health conditions that previous members have had include, but are not limited to:

  • ADHD/Autism, Adrenal Fatigue, Anxiety, Binocular Dysfunction, Burnout, Brain Injury (mTBI, TBI), Broken or Fractured Bones, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, Chronic Migraines, Complex Trauma, Connective Tissue Disorders, C-PTSD, CRPS, Depression, Dysautonomia, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Endometriosis, Fibromyalgia, Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome, Gastroparesis, Hashimotos, HPA Axis Dysfunction, Hypermobility Disorders (hEDS, HSD), IBD, Kidney Disease, Long-Covid, Lupus, Lyme, MCAS, ME/CFS, Multiple Sclerosis, Narcolepsy, Occipital Neuralgia, Pain Syndromes, PMDD, Post-Concussion Syndrome, POTS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scoliosis, SIBO, Sleep Apnea, Tendonitis, TMJ, Toxic Mold Exposure, Undiagnosed, Vestibular Disorders, Whiplash Associated Disorder, and more!

What is the structure of the program?

  • Week 1: Orientation to get set up on the course portal and peer support community app

  • Weeks 2-5: Weekly live zoom calls + video modules + workbooks

  • Week 6: Time off to integrate the information

  • Weeks 7-10: Weekly live zoom calls + video modules + workbooks

  • Week 11: Time off to integrate the information

  • Weeks 12-15: Weekly live zoom calls + video modules + workbooks

  • Week 16: Final zoom call to celebrate wins (and an invitation to join the TSP Alumni Community if you want ongoing live support and accountability).

When are the live calls?

  • We have a variety of options to accommodate people from different time zones.

You can contact [email protected] to learn about the current schedule.

We also encourage members to show up in pajamas or have screens off if required to rest their eyes. We are a very open and welcoming environment, and encourage everyone to put their health and well-being first.

I'm nervous to invest in myself ... will TSP™ really help me?

We understand that TSP™ is a big financial commitment for many. If you didn’t know, we offer a monthly payment plan and our pricing is in Canadian. Plus, we are so confident in our program, that we offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you aren’t satisfied.

But most often, the anxiety/fear around enrolling has to do with the fact that you never (or rarely) put yourself first.

The truth is - it is ok to ask for help. You are WORTHY of getting the support you need and deserve.

If you’re still not sure, here are some journal prompts to help you:

  • How is your diagnosis (or lack of one) impacting your relationships, life, career, finances, and health? How would that change if you had less symptoms and more energy?

  • Do you have effective strategies and tools to navigate the ups and downs?

  • Is your current cycle of pushing past your limits until you crash sustainable?

  • Do you have a supportive community of spoonies that you can turn to for encouragement?

  • Are you the type of person who would benefit from having accountability and clear action steps?

  • If you take a deep breath and tap into your intuition, is TSP™ the right fit for you?

Can I speak with someone before I join?

Absolutely!

I’d love to connect. You can send me a DM on instagram @TheSpoonieMentor anytime.

If you’d like to speak with a graduate about their experience, you can contact [email protected] and we will connect you with someone.

We know this transformation is possible for you.

  • You deserve the energy and stamina to do what lights you up.

  • You deserve to feel calm in your mind and body.

  • You deserve a support network that makes you feel seen, validated, and understood.

  • You deserve the freedom to make plans and not worry that you will have to cancel because of unpredictable symptoms.

  • You deserve to feel connected to your true, authentic self.

And we wholeheartedly know that YOU ARE WORTHY OF HEALING.

The Thriving Spoonie Pathway™ will teach you all of the skills you need to get your life back.

TSP™ Success Story

Before TSP™, Georgie was battling terrible pain and severe fatigue. She was grieving the loss of her career and felt exhausted from all of the doctors’ appointments and medications that weren’t helping her. She said the biggest challenge was not being able to be an active mother and wife like she once was. By the third month, she was able to go to an indoor waterpark for TWO DAYS with her family WITHOUT causing a pain flare! She credits this huge win to all of the tools and strategies she learned inside of the program.

TSP™ is the accountability, community support, and guidance you need to heal.

It is time to finally put your needs first. Investing in your health is a PRIORITY, not a luxury.

Let us save you TIME, MONEY, and ENERGY by guiding you through a PROVEN roadmap to reclaiming your well-being.

Why I created this program

Becoming a spoonie was the most isolating experience of my entire life. There were many times that I felt like giving up because of the debilitating pain and fatigue. Nobody in my life seemed to understand what I was going through. being stuck at home, unable to work or volunteer.
After many years, a lot of trial-and-error, and COUNTLESS hours of research and medical appointments - I finally learned how to put myself first. Over the span of a few months, I went from being stuck in bed on disability leave, to THRIVING on two hour hikes. At first I kept worrying that the improvements wouldn't last. But when I realized that I really was getting stronger and healthier every month- I knew that I needed to share the techniques that I had discovered with others.
The current dominant narrative on chronic illness is not one of hope and inspiration. That's why the mission of TSP™ is to help fellow spoonies realize that it IS possible to build a life they love alongside their diagnosis. If you're ready to learn the evidence-based strategies that have changed countless lives, I can't wait to hold space for you within our community. Emily P.S. If you want to have a no-pressure chat to see if TSP™ is the right fit for you, don't hesitate to send me a DM on instagram @TheSpoonieMentor)

My experience has been life altering. It has provided me with the tools to learn how to slow down, rest, while being productive. I am feeling more confident and more in love with myself after this program because I am on a journey to re-discovering the importance of rest in my life. Emily is an incredible facilitator that created an amazing space to be uplifted and encouraged by great people while learning more about self care and accountability. I am glad I listened to my gut and took this course.

This community and the value it has brought to my life is priceless. 12 weeks ago I was just a completely empty person, very depressed and hopeless. Now, my tank is completely full and life is dare I say even more beautiful than I’ve ever seen. I get to appreciate the little things that I overlooked before getting sick.

I am honestly so grateful that I joined the Thriving Spoonie Pathway! At first, I was hesitant to invest in myself, but I have never regretted it once. The skills I have learned during the 12 week program will stay with me forever. I've also gained miles in my recovery.
